Operation Karma, Interview Hickups and Health Check Ups

On Thursday Night Last week I got to see Operation Karma record a live album and it was so great to see this punk band again. It is also great to sing along to Fuck Trump. I really look forward to hearing the final product.

I actually really like the venue Shotkickers, I use to live in an old funeral home not far from their in High Street, Thornbury. So if you get a chance definitely spend some money on local Melbourne talent playing there.

I hope to arrange an interview with Operation Karma soon too as they said yes to an interview request and I will be pumped to get that out to you all and also find out who their infuences are and also how they develop their sound with the 3 of them. If you can get to one of their gigs I promise you will not be disappointed ever.

Here is a great song that they played the other night! https://operationkarma.bandcamp.com/track/scream-like-a-girl

Thursday last week I had lined up to interview Gale Bird, but as children will do, they break limbs and so we have to reschedule. I am so in love with their music too and it is a world away from Operation Karma and I think that is my favourite thing about being a host of this podcast just listening to all this talent and different music. It is soul filling goodness.

I also wish Joshua from Gale Bird a quick recovery from his own health concern. I am also eager to learn how they manage 5 children and a band. As someone who has 2 kids, 7.5 years apart I can't even imagine that.

I have had a technical glitch in my recording for part 2 of Kira J's episode so that is still coming out, hopefully soon. I can not tell you have many hours I have spent trying to fix it. But I am getting there now, which is such a relief as with ADHD brain, it is very hard to move past an annoying sound, without trying to fix it.

Speaking of health. Make sure you get all your check up. This week I am getting my 3rd check since being diagnosed and treated for Breast Cancer, if it was not for a free screen and a best friend getting breast cancer, I aren't sure I would have gone to get a screen for it. So make sure you take time for yourself and if something isn't feeling right, talk to someone and see a professional if you can.

Making of a Musician is on 5pm now on Sundays on Untidy Radio www.untidyradio.com Melburn time. 8am England and I love that after the interview there is the music that is played during the episode, so it is great way to spend Sunday Evening wind down time. I really appreciate all the support Mark from Untidy Music has given me since his interview and having the show available on the radio actually still makes me so happy each week.

I do plan to get Season 2 Episode 6 out on the 7th of May. Hopefully it is the wonderful Idge Hehir from Soundpark Studios and the Flickering Stars, but I have to check in to see how he is going this week.
